Blue Sky Fellowship Group

 

Blue Sky Fellowship began on October of 2009, started by three branches of Bread of Life church, and under the authority of Bread of Life Church, East Auckland东区恩泉灵粮堂.

Our commitment is “for the hurt to be healed, for the lonely to have a home, to reconstruct a bright future, and enter into an abundant life”. We serve single parent families, older unmarried individuals, and those who have lost their partner.

Our community meet once a month, with indoor and outdoor activities.We organise a large camp once a year. Our staff are volunteers from different churches (currently our co-workers are made up the members from 10 Chinese churches).

By the grace and power of God, Blue Sky Fellowship is heading into its 10th year. In the past 10 years, with the support from pastors, and with a lot of effort put in by many staff, it has allowed people that are hurt, that are lonely, that are in need, that have low self-esteem, that are despised by others to be brought up, to be accepted, and to be set free and healed, and to be fed and allowed to grow, and to be strengthened.

Praise to our Lord, as the Bible says, “those who nourish others will be nourished”, “it is better to give than to receive”. In the early days the leaders from Blue Sky have been seeking to grow through serving, as it matured, they became committed to the Fellowship. They are keen to be of help to others going through similar experiences. Our hope is that the Blue Sky Fellowship continues to be used by the Lord, to answer to the needs of this generation.

Blue Sky’s sermon messages have initially been prepared by pastor传道人, using the words from the Bible as the foundation, and using her gifts and experiences, to bring participants to repent, to forgive, and thereby be healed and set free. She also used different resources to teach others to manage one’s emotions and perceptions, and to find solutions to issues in marriage. Teaching also includes parenting, through inviting experienced guest speakers to help with catering to everyone’s needs. Praise to the Lord, in this year we have also received help from a pastor based abroad.

We have a wide range of outdoor activities, including picnic in parks around Auckland, hikes in picturesque locations, and indoor activities such as table tennis, badminton, and bowling etc. We help building up parent-child relationships, we have also served in a rest home and have been on a short term mission trip. It has helped us bond and also allowed us to look at the needs of others, promoting love between our brothers and sisters in Christ.

We organize Camp – get away once a year. It is usually held at the Labour long weekend, end of October. Praise the Lord! We can always see God’s hands at work in bringing about his amazing power. Many who have attended every year had a lot to gain from the event. In the beginning our counsellors and pastors were asked to prepare teachings, in the recent 3 years we have invited guest speakers, in 2017 we invited local well-known kiwi pastors to be our keynote speakers. In terms of worship, this year we will worship by singing while praying to the lord. We have also had many more volunteers. It is great to see God’s abundant grace among us.
